    Common Sense Health Rules

    • Never eat unless you are hungry
    • Never eat past the point where you are not hungry – by the time your food is digested your tummy will be full
    • Don’t eat when you are ill if you don’t feel like it - REST your digestive system – so you can give all the power to your immune system to fight the illness as its top priority
    • Listen and look to your cravings of certain food (not junk foods) – look up the contents to see what vitamins, minerals & supplements your body needs.  Likewise, look at foods you hate – most probably your body has sufficient supply of those nutrients
    • Eat food prepared with love
    • Eat in a relaxed mood, make it a pleasurable experience

    You are what you eat!

The old wives tale is true.  It is important to incorporate a diet that includes high quality unprocessed, unrefined natural foods to enjoy quality health and vitality.  The question to ask yourself is - what price do you put on your health?

It is important to educate yourself to a healther, happier, longer life!

Food groups to avoid and why:

    • WHITE SUGAR causes mineral imbalances in the body, resulting in arthritis, gastrointestinal orders, skin and anxiety problems, and Vitamin B deficiencies.

    •  WHITE FLOUR & BREADS are produced from chemically treated wheat which has the valuable bran and wheatgerm removed which contains large amounts of proteins, vitamins and minerals.  The remaining flour is mostly starch – devoid of nutrients and has a high content of chemicals used for bleaching which affect the beneficial bacteria of our intestines

    • SALT (sodium chloride) ground from rocks is an unnatural form unable to be assimilated correctly by the body.  It causes kidney problems, high blood pressure, heart disease, hyperacidity of the stomach, fluid retention, insomnia, hives, nervous tension, sinusitis and mucus problems.  Vegetable salt is a delicious alternative without harmful effects, while sea salt can be used moderately for a salty taste.  Natural raw fruit and vegetables contain adequate organic salt.

    • MILK causes excessive mucus, colds, coughs, tonsillitis, asthma and allergies with fat and calcium being difficult to digest due to their coarse texture.  Almond, soya or sesame milk drinks are far superior in nutrients whilst raw goats mils is highly recommended as it is the closet in chemical composition to human milk.

    • YOGHURT - commercially available and colourfully packed varieties of yoghurt are usually full of white sugar, artificial preservatives and colourings.  Natural yoghurt, preferably unpasteurised goats or sheep milk, has a tangy taste and its therapeutic effects lie in reducing putrefaction of the gastrointestinal tract.  Most races who live over 100 years, suggest that it is beneficial to include some form of soured milk in their daily diet.

    • ICE CREAM is loaded with white sugar and can be almost like a harmful chemistry set.  It contains Diethyl Glucol a chemical used in place of eggs and an as anti-freeze in radiators and it removes paint.  Pipernoal is used in the place of vanilla and it is used to kill lice.

    • MARGARINE is usually full of chemicals, artificial colourings, synthetic  vitamins and preservatives with hydrogenation used to make vegetable oils solid destroying essential fatty acids and forming dangerous trans fatty acids which render it carcinogenic.  Butter in moderation is the best alternative for a spread.

    • VEGETABLE OILS processed by treating the seeds with chemicals to extract the oil are heated to extremely high temperatures to evaporate the chemicals which destroys the nutritional value and also may render the oil ‘cancer producing’ or carcinogenic.  The healthier alternative are cold pressed oils, e.g. extra virgin olive oli, as they have been extracted without the use of chemicals or excess heat, they are a little more expensive as it takes many seeds to make a small bottle.
